Air Fryer 2 Ingredient Pizza Dough Recipe

With the rise in energy prices it was the perfect time for us to buy an air fryer and since then we rarely use our energy hog oven. We have had so much fun experimenting with it.

When I first saw this recipe on an Instagram reel I was intrigued by the idea of making a pizza base from just two ingredients.

I often fall into a TikTok / Instagram reel black hole watching cooking videos for far too long. In fact, most of my bookmarked videos revolve around recipes and food and often inspire me to create something similar.

I’m not one for following recipes. I usually use them as a base for an idea before I get in the kitchen and start to experiment. So this recipe was of particular interest for me to try.

Let’s get to business. Basically, as the title suggests it’s a 2 ingredient Pizza Dough recipe and has only two things in it, flour and yoghurt.

Items you will need

  • 500g of self-raising flour
  • 500g of Greek yoghurt
  • 1 jar of pizza sauce (or make your own with tomato puree water and garlic)
  • 2 packets of grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 spoon of garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 spoon of onion powder (optional)
  • Oregano to garnish/chopped basil if you prefer or both)

Your favourite toppings (we added pepperoni and pineapple because it DOES belong on pizza but that’s a discussion for another dayπŸ˜‰ )

How to make it

  • Add the flour, garlic, and onion powder ( you could always add some Italian herbs into this mixture if you want the dough more flavoured) to a bowl and mix in 400g of yoghurt.
  • Mix it well until it’s all been absorbed. It’s better to have a dry dough than a sticky one. If it’s too dry and not playable enough to roll out just add more yoghurt.
  • Once mixed together, kneed for 5 mins]utes and cut into 4 to 5 pieces depending on your air Fryer size. Each piece will be a single pizza. Remember to divide up into sizes that are going to fit into your Air Fryer.
  • Using the palm of your hand and a floured work surface flatten out the dough until it’s a thin disk shape leaving a 1cm edge slightly raised to stop the sauce from running off.
  • Add 2 heaped tablespoons of pizza sauce to the dough and spread around with the back of the spoon leaving 1cm space around the edges.
  • Add a thin layer of cheese again up to 1cm around the edges
  • Garnish with your favourite topping and place into the air Fryer on 200c initially for 8 mins (keep a very close eye on it as it will cook fast)
  • Once cooked, take it out of the air Fryer and let it stand for 10 minutes. The cheese will be very hot and runny so it needs time to set (be careful not to burn your mouth if you are tempted to have a bite
  • Once ready cut into pieces and sprinkle some oregano or fresh chopped basil on top and. enjoy

Let us know in the comments below if you tried this and how it turned out. This can also be cooked in the oven like a traditional pizza if you don’t have an Air Fryer.
