Disney’s Epcot Food and Wine 2023: We tried the Pickle Milkshake!

🥒 The milkshake that has been creating quite a buzz at Disneyworld is none other than the Pickle Milkshake. You can find this intriguing concoction at the Brew-Wing Lab in the Odyssey Pavilion, and it’s priced at $5.75. We believe it offers great value for money, considering its generous size and the fact that you even get to take home a charming plastic jar-type mug if you wish.

After seeing the milkshake featured in various Disney vlogs, we knew we had to give it a try. While I was excited about the idea, Nick wasn’t initially convinced, despite his love for milkshakes and pickles. After all, it seemed like the perfect combination for him, right?

The Muppets Odyssey Pavilion

During our visit to the park, we indulged in a variety of snacks, which we will cover in another post in the future. When we finally made it to the Odyssey Pavilion, we sampled some of their chicken wings, along with the famous Pickle Milkshake.

The milkshake boasts an appealing color and is topped with a creamy layer that adds to its overall presentation. It is said to be concocted in the Muppets laboratory by none other than Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant, Beaker. From time to time, they make appearances on a screen in the seating area to discuss their food experiments.

Chicken wings

The pavilion offers a wide range of food options, including an assortment of flavourful chicken wings. If you’re a fan of peanut butter, we highly recommend trying their peanut butter and jelly wings—they are absolutely delicious.

Now, let’s get back to the milkshake. The first sip reveals a lovely creamy texture, and the topping offers a hint of butterscotch that reminded us of the frozen butterbeer at Universal. The pickle taste emerges subtly in the aftertaste. It’s not overpowering, but you can definitely recognise the flavor of gherkins (pickles). Surprisingly, it’s not as off-putting as it may sound. If you enjoy milkshakes, we’re confident that you could give this a try without feeling queasy.

A unique taste

🥗Interestingly, one of our friends compared the taste to that of a Caesar salad! lol, However, we didn’t perceive that particular flavour 😂, only the subtle pickle essence.

🧒 We believe that children would find this milkshake particularly enjoyable due to its distinctive flavor and the novelty of trying a pickle-infused treat.

Remember, the Pickle Milkshake is available for a limited time during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival at the Brew-Wing Lab in the Odyssey Pavilion.
