First things first: this is a separate ticketed event, so you don’t need a standard Magic Kingdom day ticket. It runs on select nights from mid-August through Halloween, with the party running from 7:00 PM to midnight.

But here is the best bit—your party ticket gets you into the park at 4:00 PM! That gives you three whole bonus hours to jump on some rides or just soak up the atmosphere before the official party even starts. It really makes the ticket much better value for money.

As for the cost, prices vary depending on the date, usually running anywhere from $119 up to $229 per person. Just bear in mind that weekends and dates closer to Halloween will cost you more, and popular nights like October 31st will absolutely sell out well in advance, so you need to be quick!

Our Experience: Our Evening in Detail

So, when we went in 2024, it was a completely sold-out night. Don’t get us wrong, the Disney Halloween vibe was absolutely brilliant, but we’ve got to be honest with you—the park was completely rammed.

You always hear people say these special parties mean way lower crowds, but that definitely wasn’t our experience! It was pretty hectic, so if you’re hoping to just walk right onto every single ride, you might need to adjust your expectations. The Trick-or-Treating Experience

Upon receiving our party wristbands, we were also given a treat bag.

Designated “treat” locations are clearly marked on the party map by large, illuminated orange inflatable structures.

We walked away with an absolute ton of sweets—we’re talking M&Ms, Skittles, Snickers, Twix, and those Lifesaver gummies!

Just a heads-up, though, the queues for the trick-or-treat stations can get pretty massive. They do move fast, to be fair, but you will definitely see some long lines.

Top tip for you guys: if anyone in your group has food allergies, make sure to ask for a teal-colored treat bag. Instead of the regular sweets, you collect tokens at the stations and then just swap them out later for allergy-friendly snacks at the special allergy centers in the park.

The entertainment is definitely the main event at the Halloween party! You get shows, a parade, and fireworks that you won’t see on a normal park day. Here is what you’ve got to look forward to:

• Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular: This happens right in front of Cinderella Castle with the Sanderson Sisters and a bunch of other Disney Villains. They put it on a few times a night, which makes it easy to fit in. Honestly, this is one of our absolute favourite things about the whole party, and we always make sure we catch it. We are massive fans of the Hocus Pocus films!
• Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade: It kicks off with the Headless Horseman riding down the street! After that, you’ve got all the characters in their Halloween outfits, amazing floats, and those brilliant gravediggers from the Haunted Mansion. Top tip: They usually run the parade twice a night, and if you can hold out for the later showing, it is always way less crowded to get a good viewing spot.
• Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular: Jack Skellington hosts this one, and the fireworks over the castle are just incredible. They mix the fireworks with amazing projections right onto the castle, plus lasers and lights. It’s a completely different vibe from the normal nighttime fireworks, and you really don’t want to miss it!

When it comes to the ride overlays, we have to be honest: we found them to be somewhat underwhelming overall.

However, beyond that, we felt that very little else was truly done to enhance many of the other rides.

It was a bit disappointing. We’d hoped for more immersive changes on other attractions, but they felt mostly untouched, which was a missed opportunity in our minds.

You can also get your hands on some exclusive Halloween treats and drinks that they only bring out for the party.

We gave a few things a try, like the “Bones in Piggy Wings” and “Madam Leota’s Candle,” alongside grabbing some of the normal quick-service snacks.

But we need to talk about the exclusive merch: it is a literal race against the crowds!

They put out highly sought-after stuff like special sippy cups and limited-edition pins, and honestly, the queues for these can be absolutely massive.

We’re talking lines just as long as the biggest rides in the park, which is a bit frustrating when you’ve paid good money to enjoy a special event!

The second the party starts, it turns into a mad dash to the merch lines, so you really have to have a game plan if you want something. We saw it firsthand, so definitely be prepared for that chaos.

If you actually manage to snag one of these exclusive pieces, be ready for random guests coming up to you all night asking to buy it off you! Our friend Tracy managed to get one of the Hocus Pocus sippy cups, and we literally saw people offering upwards of $100 for it right there in the park!

People go crazy for this stuff, and it’s definitely a weird vibe to deal with on your night out. (Side note: we absolutely would have sold it for a hundred bucks if we had bought one! 🤣)

• Dressing Up: This is one of the rare times adults are actually allowed to wear full costumes in Magic Kingdom, which makes the whole night feel like a massive party.
• Rare Characters: You get to meet rare characters or see the classic ones in their special Halloween outfits. Just a heads-up: the queues for these can get massive, so you definitely need a plan.
• Bonus Park Time: Getting in at 4:00 PM with your party ticket is a huge plus and gives you plenty of extra time before the main event kicks off.
